At about 18.00 hours on 17.9.40 I left SAN MET (Long. 115o 25' E. Lat. 22° 46′ N.) bound for Hong Kong with a crevif

At about 11.00 hours on 18.9.40 when about half a

direction of SAM KUN (Long.114° 39′ E. Lat. 22° 26' N.) came near to us and shouted out to us to sto.... We lovered sails and the cruiser lowered a sampan with nine Japanese sailors dressed in white uniform and the sampan was armed with a

not been seen since. They came alongside my junk, five of the sailors boarded my junk two of them being armed with rifles. They searched the junk and then asked for ay licence, the sailors then returned to the cruiser giving me instructions that I was not to sail away. About two hours later a Japanese trawler painted grey, one funnel, no masts, arrived and when coming alongside collided with my junk damaging the stern of my junk. we were then taken in tow and the cruiser sailed away towards the south-east. We then towed to SAM MUN Customs (Long.114° 39′ B. Lat. 22° 26' N.) arriving there at about 16.00 hours same day (18.9.40). On our arrival two of my cannon
